What is Academic WorldQuest (AWQ)?

It's a fun and challenging global knowledge program for high school students and a flagship program of World Affairs Councils of America.

We host a local competition each year for area high schools. During the half-day program, 4-student teams collaboratively answer questions divided into ten international categories. The winning team represents our region at a national competition in Washington D.C.

Congratulations to the high schools who placed at our local competition on March 4, 2017.

First Place: Washburn Rural High School (Topeka, KS)

Second Place: Blue Valley North High School

Third Place: Rockhurst High School

Washburn Rural High School represented our region at the national event in late April in Washington, D.C.
